Delafosse appointed vice president, Europe, at Jumeirah | News


Jumeirah Group has appointed Luc Delafosse as vice president Europe and general manager Jumeirah Carlton Tower, with immediate effect. 

Delafosse returns to the Dubai-based luxury hotel company and a member of Dubai Holding having previously been general manager of its flagship hotel, Burj Al Arab Jumeirah.

He will replace Katie Benson who earlier stepped down from the role to pursue other opportunities.

Commenting on Delafosse’s appointment, Marc Dardenne, Jumeirah Group chief operating officer, commented: “Luc brings a wealth of experience to this important strategic role and we are delighted to welcome Luc back to Jumeirah. 

“During his prolific career in hospitality, Luc has managed some of the world’s most loved hotels, including Burj Al Arab Jumeirah. 

“Luc’s unique insights into luxury hospitality and his hotelier expertise make him a very impressive addition to the Jumeirah team.”

Delafosse has had an international career spanning 30 years, working in Monaco, Monte-Carlo, London, Dubai, Paris and Los Angeles. 

His hotelier expertise is founded upon a passion for excellence and a profound understanding of the sophisticated needs of the discerning traveller, as well as both owners and operators.

In addition to managing properties, Delafosse has led a number of exceptional hotel projects through construction, pre-opening and openings phases and worked as head of hotels for a leading hotel construction and development company based in London.

Since leaving Jumeirah in 2009, Delafosse has been general manager at Hotel de Crillon in Paris and the recently opened Waldorf Astoria in Beverley Hills.
