Expedia Group has confirmed that its customers in all European markets (including the UK and Switzerland) will not be charged the distribution surcharge on flights from Air France, KLM and the carriers’ low-cost affiliate, Hop!.
This agreement saves Expedia, ebookers and Egencia clients €11 one way or €22 roundtrip when booking flights with the carriers.
In addition, Expedia Group and Air France-KLM, along with its selected GDS partners, have committed to collaborate on the integration of new distribution capabilities – a technology standard developed by the International Air Transport Association.
Expedia Group is one of world’s largest travel platforms.
Travelport and Amadeus also recently deals with Air France-KLM to allow their customers to access content without paying the surcharge.
Air France-KLM announced the fee in November, saying it would cover the cost difference between flights booked through a global distribution system and those booked direct.
