Wyndham Hotel Group has confirmed it will flag all of its properties with the “…by Wyndham” designation, with the process beginning next week.
The decision is largely designed to drive online engagement.
It means as many as 9,100 properties around the world will have the “…by Wyndham” branding moving forward.
Around 6,000 hotels will be renamed in the coming months.
Among the new brands will be Days Inn by Wyndham, Howard Johnson by Wyndham, Ramada by Wyndham, and Dazzler by Wyndham.
The move was revealed by Geoff Ballotti, Wyndham Hotels Group chief executive, during the company’s annual conference, this year being hosted at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
More than 6,000 delegates are in attendance at the event, with more information on the official website.
More Information
The news comes as Wyndham Hotel Group completes preparations to become a publicly traded hotel franchising and hotel management company.
The new company will be named Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
At the same time, Wyndham Vacation Ownership will be joined with RCI to create the world’s largest vacation ownership and exchange company, which will be known as Wyndham Destinations.
Wyndham Worldwide expects the transaction to be tax-free to itself and its shareholders.
The separation will not require a shareholder vote and is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2018.
