The Convention Centre Dublin has won 35 awards for different aspects of its business since opening just seven years ago, and most recently was named Europe’s Leading Meetings & Conference Centre 2017 at the World Travel Awards.
Following this achievement, the venue moves forward to compete with other regional winners for the ultimate title of World’s Leading Meetings & Conference Centre 2017 which will be announced at the Grand Final Gala Ceremony in Phu Quoc, Vietnam in December.
Speaking of the nomination, Stephen Meehan, chief executive of The CCD, said: “We are a very passionate and collaborative team, we believe in delivering exceptional service for our clients in this wonderful and iconic building, right in the heart of Dublin, so to be recognised on a world stage by our clients and industry peers would mean so much to us.”
In its canvassing campaign for votes, The CCD is highlighting three distinguishing factors that sets it apart from the competition:
Service – Staff at The CCD live by the Irish saying ‘Céad Mile Fáilte’ (100,000 welcomes). The venue also has a 98 per cent customer satisfaction rate, and provides an experienced and dedicated team for every event.
Location – The CCD is based in the centre of a vibrant city, steeped in culture and entertainment, and is just 15 minutes from Dublin Airport.
Facilities – The CCD is an iconic and flexible, purpose-built venue with 22 meeting spaces, 4,300 square metres of exhibition space and Wi-Fi capacity for 22,000 devices.
The World Travel Awards are voted for by travel and tourism professionals, and business and leisure travel consumers worldwide.
Established in 1993, the awards acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry, and celebrate organisations which push the boundaries of industry excellence.
