The luxury resort of Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic has announced it is investing US$12 million this year to further enhance its reputation as a world-class resort.
Located on the south eastern coast of the Dominican Republic, the impressive five- star property offers luxury accommodation, championship level golf plus an array of outstanding facilities.
Among the improvements funded by the multi-million-dollar investment are new facilities such as a dedicated family pool area, exclusive beach club, golf learning centre plus new banqueting venue and hotel room renovations.
The projects have all either been completed or are due to finish in time for the peak winter season.
A new family pool area is currently being constructed on the private Minitas beach.
The project, due to be operational in time for American Thanksgiving (November 22nd), will offer all the facilities needed by families wanting to spend the day relaxing by the shores of the Caribbean.
The area, set right on the white sandy beach, offers two new pools, a parade of shops, dining options, covered seating area and kids’ playground.
It has been designed to complement the facilities at the exclusive Minitas Beach Club.
Next to the new family pool area is the Minitas Beach Club, offering a contemporary space for both daytime and evening relaxation.
The lounge area is the perfect place to sit sipping cocktails and one of the best spots on the island to enjoy the sunset.
Guest can also enjoy the spectacular panoramic Caribbean views as they swim in the 23-metre infinity pool or indulge in fine dining in the restaurant.
The restaurant (one of 20 within the complex) is open for lunch and dinner daily, offering a la carte dining with a mixture of Mediterranean and Latin flavours.
Private cabanas offer seating and lounge space for up to ten people, creating an exclusive a la carte dining option for groups requiring a more discreet option.
Casa De Campo is home to three championship level golf courses, including ‘Teeth of the Dog’ – the top-rated course in the Caribbean.
In order to maintain its reputation as one of the top golf resorts in the world, they have created the most advanced golf learning centre in the Caribbean.
The state-of-the-art facility which opened this summer, features two indoor hitting bays for rapid game improvement, year-round training, individual and group golf lessons and expert club-fitting and repair.
The PGA Tour-quality facility also offers practice greens for honing putting, chipping and pitching games as well as unlimited use of the pristine outdoor range for full shots.
The 64 Pete Dye Golf Lodge Rooms are located at the centre of the resort area and have been renovated and modernised with half being re-named the Superior Casita rooms and the other half called the Deluxe Casita rooms – a move designed to better reflect the quality of accommodation on offer.
Everything about the rooms has been remodelled, from floor to ceiling.
There are larger bathrooms with walk-in showers and an expansive walk-in closet.
These rooms also boast distinctive amenities such as espresso machines and, of course, a full-service mini-bar. The upgraded rooms will be offered to guests from November 22nd.
Jason Kycek, vice president of sales and marketing, commented: “We are very excited about the new additions to the resort.
“Our aim is to remain a leading luxury resort offering nothing short of world class facilities.
“In order to do that, it is paramount that we continue to invest in the resort’s infrastructure and services.
“The resort will be under-going further exciting enhancements over the next year, so we are confident that we will continue to offer a unique premium product to the UK travel trade and cement our position as one of the world’s leading holiday destinations.”
