As Virgin Atlantic becomes the first European carrier to offer Wi-Fi across its entire fleet, passengers will be able to access heathrowexpress.com for free to buy tickets at 36,000ft for the fastest route into central London.
With access to all Heathrow Express online fares from phones, laptops, tablets and Bluetooth enabled devices, passengers can travel seamlessly on the 15-minute transfer from Heathrow to central London, saving them time when they land.
Fraser Brown, director of Heathrow Express, said: “We are delighted to be working with Virgin Atlantic to be able to offer their passengers the chance to easily purchase tickets in-flight so they can enjoy a seamless journey from plane to train and into central London.”
Powered by a combination of Panasonic and Gogo technology, the new Wi-Fi service is now available on all of Virgin Atlantic’s 39 aircraft, with passes starting from £2.99.
Online fares for travel within 14 days start at £22 single, while kids aged 15 and under travel for free.
Mark Anderson, executive vice president of customer at Virgin Atlantic, said: “This year we became the first airline in Europe to offer Wi-Fi across our network, and now we’ve partnered with Heathrow Express to add even more benefits for our customers.
“From November we’ll offer complimentary access to the Heathrow Express website from the air, enabling a seamless onward journey to and from central London.”
