Ascot Racecourse unveils rejuvenated fine dining options ahead of 2018 | News

Ascot Racecourse has confirmed four new fine dining restaurants for Royal Ascot 2018 – The Balmoral, The Windsor Forest, The Furlong Restaurant and The Gallery.

These will form part of its expanded 15-strong portfolio of restaurants at the Royal Meeting.

The new restaurants have been curated following in-depth customer insight and inspiration from fine dining establishments across the world.

To be held from June 19th-23rd, 2018, Royal Ascot promises five days of world-class horse racing, high fashion, pageantry and fine dining as the racecourse opens its gates to more than 300,000 racegoers from across the globe.

From the arrival of the royal procession at 14:00 to communal singing around the Bandstand after the last race, each day of Royal Ascot is a truly remarkable and memorable occasion.

A new concept for 2018, The Windsor Forest will re-open this year as the most intimate and one of the most exclusive Royal Ascot restaurants in the Royal Enclosure.

Seating just 45 guests in a sophisticated and luxurious setting, with prime views over the Winning Post from its private balcony, The Windsor Forest offers the highest degree of personalised service, ultimate flexibility and unrivalled attention to detail.

Personal table service offering guests an exquisite range of dishes at any time of day that suits, a collection of hand-picked desserts to choose from and Royal Ascot’s prestigious afternoon tea are all culinary highlights of this new restaurant.

Brand new for this year, The Balmoral is inspired by Her Majesty’s Scottish Estate and celebrates the best of British food with fresh Scottish seafood, Royal Estate beef and locally-sourced cheese featuring on the menu.

Benefitting from a prime trackside location, adjacent to the Royal Enclosure Gardens, The Balmoral has spectacular head-on views down the finishing straight and a spacious outside viewing deck.

The Gallery is another new restaurant joining the 2018 line-up offering fine food in a relaxed and social dining environment within the Queen Anne Enclosure.

Boasting a private veranda, with outside seating areas just metres from the track, The Gallery is the perfect spot to soak up the electric atmosphere of the Royal Meeting as the horses gallop towards the Winning Post.

A well-known Royal Ascot feature, the former Furlong Club will be transformed for 2018 into a new and spacious Fine Dining restaurant in the Queen Anne Enclosure.

Light and airy with lounge areas for guests to retreat to and an expansive viewing deck running its entire length, The Furlong Restaurant offers racegoers a mixture of grazing and seated menu concepts to create a relaxed yet vibrant experience.

Juliet Slot, commercial director, Ascot Racecourse, commented on the new restaurants: “We are extremely excited to introduce four new Fine Dining concepts for Royal Ascot 2018.

“Following in-depth analysis of our customer feedback from this year’s Royal Meeting and extensive research, both here in the UK and Internationally, we have developed these restaurants in response to what our guests want from their experience as well as inspiring them with new ideas.

“As a world-renowned racecourse, we pride ourselves on tradition as well as innovation – both of which resonate with our customers.

“Despite only releasing details of the new concepts this week, each restaurant has already sold out for at least one of the five days of Royal Ascot so we encourage people to book as early as possible.”
