Eurowings is taking a bite out of the Big Apple, with the carrier unveiling plans to start new departures from Düsseldorf in April next year.
Also new in the Eurowings route network: in the summer flight schedule 2018, there will be three flights a week from the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia to the two sunshine destinations of Miami and Fort Myers in Florida.
The first flight day for the new route to New York is April 28th, which Eurowings will operate daily except Tuesdays.
Flights from Düsseldorf to Miami will start on May 4th, heading out thereafter on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The Eurowings route to Fort Myers will be operated for the first time on May 3rd and thereafter on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The three new direct flights from Düsseldorf to the USA are part of the airline’s ongoing expansion of its low-cost long-haul offering.
Just recently, the first Eurowings long-haul flight took off on time from Düsseldorf to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
This route, along with the existing Eurowings flight to Cancun in Mexico, will be continued in the summer flight schedule 2018.
Oliver Wagner, Eurowings chief commercial officer, commented: “Our new destinations in New York and Florida are merely the start.
“In summer 2018, we’ll be increasing our fleet in Düsseldorf and thus expanding our leading position in Düsseldorf and North Rhine-Westphalia even further.”
