Ultra-luxury Silversea Cruises has announced Peter Shanks is joining the company in the role of managing director, UK & Ireland.
Based in the London office, he will report to chief executive, Roberto Martinoli, and will be responsible for the continuing strong growth in the UK & Ireland markets alongside its expert leadership in the industry.
Shanks previously spent twelve years at Carnival Corporation, most recently as president and managing director of Cunard Line.
For the last three years he has been development director at fast growing Imagine Cruising, a leading provider of cruise and stay holidays and part of the Emirates Group.
His long career in travel also includes serving as chairman of CLIA UK.
“Peter is the leading expert on the British and Irish markets,” said Silversea chairman Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio.
“I’m thrilled he is joining Silversea and I am sure that thanks to his leadership we will be able to further grow in markets where we are already a renowned and leading luxury brand.”
Peter Shanks will join Silversea in early 2018 and will lead a team of 71 professionals out of the London office.
