AccorHotels has announced its new ibis Styles hotel: the ibis Styles London Gloucester Road.
The hotel has been signed under a management agreement with P I Hospitality Management.
Located close to Gloucester Road tube station, the hotel has 85 bedrooms, a bar & restaurant and will open in January 2018.
AccorHotels will manage a full refurbishment programme of the hotel including fitting all rooms with Ibis Sweet Beds.
The restaurant, bar and welcome areas will also be refurbished to bring an ibis Styles design-led identity, while retaining the individuality and charm of the hotel.
The hotel will immediately transform its reception by implementing the ibis guest welcome programme that removes the need for the traditional check-in desk.
ibis employees will run the hotel via an app on their mobile device, allowing them to manage their schedules and access information while being freed up to interact with guests and to provide a more personal service.
The ibis Styles London Gloucester Road will bring the ibis brand portfolio to 106 hotels in the UK and AccorHotels’ total UK & Ireland portfolio to 235 properties.
Speaking of the signing, Thomas Dubaere, chief operating officer of AccorHotels UK & Ireland, commented: “It’s great to work with a new partner in UK, after working with us in the Asia-Pacific region, underlining our position as the biggest hotel management company in UK.
“The new ibis Styles will complement our existing portfolio and strengthen our London offer.”
ibis first opened in 1974 and is Europe’s largest hotel chain and leading economy hotel brand.
Since then, the ibis, ibis Styles and ibis budget brands have expanded rapidly in the UK – with this signing bringing the ibis Styles UK network to 21 hotels.
Philip Lassman, vice president of development, AccorHotels UK & Ireland, added: “ibis Styles is the perfect brand for this hotel.
“The strength of this designer-led brand with its strong individual theming, coupled with a great central location, will ensure the hotel is a popular choice for visitors.
“AccorHotels is providing many of the hotel’s services to ensure the hotel runs efficiently and profitably for our partners.”
Creativity and good humour are the hallmarks of the ibis Styles brand, with each designer hotel having its own individual charm.
