O’Connor to lead culinary offering at Hotel Café Royal | News

Hotel Café Royal has appointed Kerry O’Connor to the role of director of food and beverage.

She joins from The Grove Hotel, Hertfordshire, at an exciting time in her new position.

This year, Hotel Café Royal will undergo refurbishments on the first and ground floors before opening a new restaurant in the spring.

Heavily involved in the upcoming changes, O’Connor will lead the hotel in delivering an exceptional new offering befitting the standards of the iconic Hotel Café Royal.

The new restaurant will replace The Ten Room and join Papillon, Green Bar and Oscar Wilde Lounge to complete the hotel’s dining portfolio, with a further fine dining operation to open in 2019.

Starting her career with Carluccio’s, O’Connor has been no stranger to new openings and restaurant launches, having opened several high profile and notable hotels, bars, and restaurants.

As food and beverage director at Mondrian Hotel London, she oversaw the launch and opening of the Dandelyan Bar.

In addition to her hotel background, O’Connor worked with Selfridges over a seven-year period where she was charged with a daily operation comprising 17 outlets.

The announcement quickly follows the appointment of Guillaume Marly as managing director at the end of last year.

Marly commented: “We are thrilled to welcome Kerry to our growing team.

“With Hotel Café Royal undergoing a significant phase of development, the changes will bring a brilliant addition to the hotel and to London’s flourishing dining scene.

“We look forward to announcing further details in due course.”
