Europcar UK has appointed Jose Blanco as UK sales and marketing director.
He has taken over the role from Nick Harwood, who has been promoted to sales director, key partners, for Europcar Group.
Blanco has extensive travel sector experience, which he plans to use to drive an ambitious programme to respond to the challenges of the UK marketplace, focusing on both business and leisure travellers.
“The UK marketplace is experiencing a number of challenges which, I believe make it an exciting place to work at this time,” said Blanco.
“I firmly believe that there are many opportunities for Europcar to provide cost-effective and convenient mobility solutions for both business and leisure travellers in the UK.
“I am, therefore, tremendously excited to be joining the Europcar UK team at this time.”
Most recently vice president, commercial, and chief commercial officer of Pullmantur Cruises (Royal Caribbean Group), he previously spent five years as sales and marketing director for Europcar in Spain.
He therefore has a good knowledge of the Europcar Group, as well as the broader mobility marketplace.
