Wizz Air launches new flights to Debrecen, Hungary | News


Wizz Air has announced the launch a new route between Doncaster Sheffield and Debrecen in Hungary.

Flights will begin on December 16th and will operate on Tuesdays and Sundays.

The new route will be the first to connect South Yorkshire with Hungary’s second city, Debrecen.

Wizz Air’s first flight from Doncaster Sheffield Airport took off in 2006, and since then more than three million passengers have chosen to fly with Wizz.

Wizz Air has carried over 178,000 passengers on its 11 low fare Doncaster Sheffield routes so far this year, connecting passengers to; Gdansk, Katowice, Lublin, Poznan, Warsaw Chopin, Wroclaw, Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Kosice, Vilnius and Riga.

Sorina Ratz, acting head of communications, Wizz Air, said: “We are delighted to be the first airline to connect Doncaster Sheffield with Debrecen, giving our customers based in the north of England the opportunity to explore this vibrant and culturally rich city.

“Wizz Air now offers a total of twelve routes from Doncaster Sheffield, demonstrating our commitment to offering UK customers low fare air travel to a variety of destinations across Europe.
