The minister of transport of Bosnia & Herzegovina, Mujo Fiso, and the president of City Sightseeing, Enrique Ybarra, have inaugurated the new City Sightseeing operation in Sarajevo.

With an investment of €1.6 million and a fleet of eight double-decker buses, the leading city tours company was able to open its first operation in the Balkans.

The opening of City Sightseeing Sarajevo, along with the launch of City Sightseeing Seattle in April, is one of the eight destinations that the leading brand of city tours has incorporated into its network in 2018.

These new additions to the global network will enable the brand to transport over 14 million tourists worldwide this year.

The new City Sightseeing operation offers visitors a 27-stop tour where they will be able to hop on and off a double-decker tour bus in order to discover the main attractions situated in the capital of Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Each visitor can hop on and off as many times as she wants during the validity of the ticket (24, 48, or 72 hours), providing a comfortable way to get around the city while admiring unparalleled views and listening to interesting commentary offered in 15 languages.

Sarajevo is an emerging destination that stands out for its cultural diversity and its rich history.

The neo-Gothic Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque, which is the largest mosque in the country, and other emblematic monuments, such as the Sebilj Fountain or the streets of Old Sarajevo, are a testament to the coexistence of various religions.

The arrival of City Sightseeing is an opportunity for Bosnia & Herzegovina to showcase all their capital has to offer within a network of more than 100 cities, including popular tourist destinations, such as New York, Dubai, Berlin, Singapore, Cape Town, Amsterdam, London, or Paris.

Furthermore, City Sightseeing will give way to the promotion of national tourism among the network of the company’s tour operators and agents, along with exposure in the world’s most important travel and tourism tradeshows.

Ybarra said: “I would like to thank the minister of transportation and all the authorities for their warm welcome.

“We are sure that we will help showcase to the world what a wonderful destination has joined our global network.”
