Anguilla Tourist Board signs Virgin Holidays partnership | News

The Anguilla Tourist Board has signed a new partnership with Virgin Holidays.

The holiday company is currently expanding its Caribbean product to include Anguilla and other smaller islands for the first time.

The new programme launches with stylish accommodation at three very different properties in Anguilla – Carimar Beach Club, Frangipani and The Reef by CuisinArt.

Carimar Beach Club offers a number of spacious self-catering beachfront apartments which are ideal for couples and families alike, with direct access to the white sandy beaches and turquoise blue waters of Meads Bay.

The resort has recently undergone a multi-million-dollar upgrade to its bathrooms and to restore its botanical gardens post Irma.

Further along the Bay, Frangipani Beach Resort, a family run property, offers elegant boutique-style accommodation with just 19 stylish rooms and suites.

The hotel’s on-site beach restaurant, Straw Hat, is a favourite with locals and visitors alike and has recently re-opened following a complete post-Irma re-build.

The menu includes local specialities such as Red Snapper Crudo, Curried Goat and Grilled Anguilla Crayfish alongside international favourites.

On the other side of the Island on Merrywing Bay, The Reef by CuisinArt offers five-star beachfront luxury.

It is one of the Island’s newest properties and features a vast range of facilities including a Spa at sister property CuisinArt, sunrise yoga and meditation classes, golf course and water sports.

It has two restaurants, The Yacht Club and its beachside bar and eatery Breezes, a hot spot for sundowners.

Carolyn Brown, Anguilla Tourist Board director for UK and Scandinavia, said: “This is fantastic news for Anguilla, to have such a big tour operator launch a new programme to the Island just nine months on from Hurricane Irma; it just goes to show how far the Island has come in such a short time.

“We look forward to welcoming Virgin Holiday’s guests on Island throughout the coming months and years ahead.”

Virgin Atlantic flies four times per week from London Gatwick to Antigua.

Trans Anguilla Air Services offers scheduled flights between Antigua and Anguilla in under an hour.

Alternatively, and new from this week, Tradewind can now offer private air charters at any time between Anguilla and Antigua.

Stephen Gilchrist, destination manager, Caribbean, Virgin Holidays, said: “Virgin Holidays is thrilled to be able to offer holidaymakers the chance to experience the beautiful island of Anguilla.

“The addition of the island in our new Caribbean brochure shows our commitment to the region, and we can’t wait for people to enjoy the authentic Caribbean for themselves.”
