Halliday takes up culinary leadership of Al Baleed Resort Salalah | News

Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara in Oman has appointed John Halliday as the hotel’s new food and beverage director.

With over 20 years of international hospitality experience, Halliday has proven himself to be a dedicated professional with a penchant for guest satisfaction, service quality and team growth.

Before accepting the new position, Halliday spent four years as food and beverage manager at the Desert Palm Dubai in the UAE, where he led a team of over 100 staff members to run the full food and beverage operation for the hotel and its associated parties.

Halliday will now bring his experience of the region to his new role at Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara, which boasts three delectable restaurants and bars to keep the team busy. 

“It’s a very exciting time, both for my career and for Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara.

“I’m looking forward to leading such an experienced and passionate team and working in such a beautiful destination,” commented Halliday.

A British national, Halliday graduated from the Hugh Baird Catering College in Liverpool, after studying advanced catering and hospitality.

Halliday began his career as a commis chef before moving on to various front-of-house roles including restaurant manager at Suites Hotel in Liverpool and operations manager for De Vere Daressbury Park Hotel in Warrington.
