Russell Loughland, the former director of sales and marketing at Palazzo Versace Dubai, has joined glh Hotels to head up the sales and marketing teams at the Royal Horseguards Hotel and Amba Hotel Charing Cross.
Loughland, who has previously worked for The Rosewood, Shangri La and Fairmont, is working across the two historic properties and will be responsible for ensuring the successful long-term development of both hotels.
He has more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality sector both in the UK and overseas, and brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role.
Loughland said: “I’m thrilled to have joined glh Hotels.
“After working abroad in Malaysia, Thailand and Saudi Arabia, among other countries, I am really excited to be back in London.
“It is such an exciting city and I am now seeing the sights with a fresh pair of eyes.
“There are huge opportunities to develop the two hotels and I am keen to start putting my ideas into action.”
