Al Habtoor Group has appointed Fredrik Reinisch to the role of complex general manager at Al Habtoor City.
The three-hotel complex in Dubai is currently rebranding, with Hilton replacing Marriott as operator.
Reinisch, who was previously general manager at Habtoor Grand Resort in Dubai Marina, will oversee all operations at Habtoor Palace (LXR Hotels & Resorts), V Hotel (Curio Collection by Hilton) and Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City.
The hotels were previously run by Marriott International as the St. Regis Dubai, W Dubai Habtoor City and Westin Dubai Al Habtoor City.
“Al Habtoor City has successfully established itself as one of the UAE and the region’s landmark hotel, leisure and residential destinations.
“I look forward to welcoming guests from across UAE, the region, and the world to Al Habtoor City, Hotel Collection,” Reinisch said of his appointment.
The hospitality professional has worked for high-profile hotels groups in the UAE, UK and Sweden.
He has also held positions at JA Resorts & Hotels in the UAE and Seychelles as well as in Millennium & Copthorne Hotels in the UK.
Under his leadership Habtoor Grand Resort was recognised as the World’s Leading MICE Resort by the World Travel Awards last year.
Al Habtoor City is considered an icon of Middle Eastern hospitality
Collectively, the three hotels, managed by Habtoor Hospitality, boast 1,600 guest rooms and suites, 18 restaurants and lounges, two spas and 34 banqueting and meeting spaces, including three large ballrooms.
In addition, the Residence Collection at Al Habtoor City consists of three luxurious residential towers comprising deluxe apartments, lofts and simplex, duplex and VIP penthouses, ranging from one-to-seven bedrooms.
Al Habtoor City also features a permanent 1,300-seat aqua theatre housing the region’s first resident show – La Perle by Dragone – created by world-renowned Artistic Director Franco Dragone.
The Al Habtoor City complex as a whole was recognised as the Middle East’s Leading Hotel Dining & Entertainment Experience by World Travel Awards earlier this year.
The three hotels at Al Habtoor City have been rebranded by Hilton
The owners of Al Habtoor City confirmed the three properties on the site were to be rebranded by Hilton at the start of August.
The news, which was confirmed at a press event in Dubai, follows an earlier announcement that Marriott International would no longer manage the hotels on Sheikh Zayed Road.
Mohammed Al Habtoor, chief executive of the Al Habtoor Group and Ian Carter, president, development, architecture, design and construction, Hilton, announced the new franchise agreement.
Al Habtoor said: “We are pleased to extend our partnership with Hilton to three additional hotel properties at Al Habtoor City, our flagship hospitality, leisure and residential development located in the heart of Dubai.
“This is a record transition into a new portfolio of brands, a testament to the strong relationship and trust between Al Habtoor Group and Hilton.
“The announcement increases our partnership with Hilton from five hotels to eight hotels around the world.”
Guests at each of the three properties are now able to earn Hilton Honours points for their stays.
The move sees the number of brands Hilton operates in the UAE increase from five to seven while adding to the long-standing presence of its flagship Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand in the country, which has welcomes guests to the UAE for nearly 50 years.
Carter said: “The addition of these three properties is great news for Hilton and strengthens a strategic partnership with Al Habtoor Group which spans across several markets internationally.
“Our portfolio will now see more than 5,000 rooms open by the end of the year in Dubai, a destination that ranks alongside global powerhouses such as London, Paris and New York in terms of annual visitor numbers.”
Al Habtoor City is a residential and leisure complex situated on Dubai’s arterial Sheikh Zayed Road.
The properties overlook Dubai Creek and the upcoming Business Bay district, a short distance away from the city’s thriving Downtown area which includes landmarks such as the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall.
