Following the departure of Oliver Williams early this year, Ellenborough Park has announced the appointment of Marwan Hemchaoui as general manager.
He joins from the Vineyard at Stockross near Newbury, part of Relais & Chateaux.
As part of Ellenborough Park’s ongoing vision to be the leading luxury country house hotel in the Cotswolds, and one of the finest boutique properties in the UK, Hemchaoui’s appointment demonstrates their dedication to offering exceptional service and management.
Hemchaoui will oversee the running of all aspects of the hotel, bringing with him over 25 years of industry experience.
After graduating from hotel school in Switzerland, Hemchaoui began his career in London, where he went on to work at the InterContinental and JW Marriott Grosvenor House as well as the Dorchester, to name a few.
Most recently, he held the position of general manager at five-star hotel and spa the Vineyard at Stockross since August 2013.
Prior to this, he owned and ran restaurants in Newbury with his wife.
On his appointment, Hemchaoui commented: “I’m delighted to be joining Ellenborough Park at such an exciting time, and so look forward to being part of the community in Cheltenham.
“The team here is wonderfully passionate, enthusiastic and full of exciting ideas, and I’m so pleased to be working alongside them and taking such historically-rich hotel to new heights.”
