Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort has appointed Dagmar Symes as general manager.
Symes brings a wealth of experience in both the hotel and luxury retail industries across Europe and the Middle East.
Starting her career with the Leading Hotels of the World, she previously worked in various luxury properties in France, Switzerland and her native Germany.
Symes obtained her first general manager position at Hotel Chateau Grand Barrail in Saint Emilion, France.
She then moved on to twelve years of management in the luxury jewellery business and worked in flagship stores of renowned brands such as Bulgari and Louis Vuitton in Germany and France, before returning to the hospitality industry in 2010 as hotel manager for Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski, Munich.
Prior to joining Minor Hotels in September, Symes held the position of cluster general manager at Phoenicia InterContinental Hotel in Beirut, Lebanon and Phoenicia Le Vendome InterContinental Hotel.
In her role at Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort, she will be responsible for introducing and overseeing Anantara’s vision of offering unparalleled experiences for its guests, creating remarkable stories for each individual.
“I am really looking forward to discover all that this astounding mountain range has to offer,” said Symes.
“I have fallen in love with the breath-taking scenery, the genuine local culture, and the expertise we each hold at the highest resort in the Middle East.
“Ever since the opening two years ago, it has been an exciting ride for the hotel and its team, and I am eager to see this beautiful property reach new heights.”
