Saga Holidays has announced the appointment of Iain Powell as head of trade sales for both Saga holidays and Saga Cruises.
Powell joins Saga on January 15th from Carnival UK where he was a business manager within the National Travel Partnerships team, managing the regional sales team.
His earlier career has seen him take on roles that have focussed on building strong business relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners alike.
He has a solid track record within both travel and cruising industries having worked in the Carnival group over the past few years and previously holding roles in both TUI and Virgin Holidays.
Maria Whiteman, managing director for Saga Holidays, said: “I am delighted to announce that Iain Powell will be joining the trade sales team as head of trade sales in the New Year.
“Iain has a wealth of experience that will be a real asset to our business and complement the skills and experience we have in our successful trade sales team.
“We have ambitious plans for growth across our travel divisions and trade sales form an integral part of these future plans.”
The appointment follows the recent announcement that Deborah Aylward had decided to leave her role at Saga to pursue other opportunities.
Powell said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Saga as head of trade sales.
“Saga is a highly regarded and recognised brand known for quality and service and I’m delighted to be joining at such an exciting time in its trade sales journey.”
