Dieter Zetsche, currently chairman of the executive board of Daimler, is to become the new chairman of the supervisory board of tourism group TUI as of October 1st, 2018.
The board of TUI AG decided to approve the nomination of Zetsche as a new member of the supervisory board to the TUI Annual General
Meeting in February.
The previous chairman of the board, Klaus Mangold intends to end his term of office as chairman of the board at the end of the 2018 financial year.
Mangold has been a member of the TUI board since 2009 and its chairman since 2011.

Zetsche was born in 1953 in Istanbul.
He studied electrical engineering, graduating at the University of Karlsruhe and was later awarded his doctorate at the University of Paderborn.
In 1976, Zetsche joined the research department of the former Daimler-Benz AG.
Since December 1998, Zetsche has been a member of the group executive board and, since January, 2006, chairman of the executive board of Daimler AG.
He is also heading the Mercedes-Benz Cars business unit.
