Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the fastest growing hotel groups in the world, has scooped four awards at the coveted World Travel Awards Africa Gala Ceremony.
The event took place at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Convention Centre in Kigali, Rwanda.
World Travel Awards serves to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry.
The international event is the continent’s most prestigious travel and tourism event of the year, bringing together the leading figure heads and VIPs from across Africa.
World Travel Awards is voted by travel and tourism professionals and business and leisure consumers worldwide, and these accolades recognise the commitment to excellence which the hotels have demonstrated in the last twelve months.
In the hotel category, the host of this year’s World Travel Awards Africa Gala Ceremony, Radisson Blu Hotel & Convention Centre, scooped three awards, being named Africa’s Leading Conference Hotel, Africa’s Leading New Hotel and Rwanda’s Leading Conference Hotel for its spectacular Convention Centre which rooms up to 5,000 delegates.
Another Carlson Rezidor African gem, Radisson Blu Okoume Palace Hotel, Libreville received their country’s hotel award and was named Gabon’s Leading Hotel.
Situated by the Atlantic Ocean, the Radisson Blu Okoume Palace Hotel, Libreville provides quick beach access and gorgeous views, just two kilometres from the airport.

This year’s World Travel Awards Africa Gala Ceremony took place concurrently with another world-class event in Kigali, the Africa Hotel Investment Forum, the premier event to connect with fellow industry leaders, agenda-setters and members of the government and media, and to get up to speed with current thinking and developments within the flourishing African continent.
